Privacy Policy

So that it is on the record plainly, this website does not use:

• Website analytics of any kind, including Google Analytics
• Advertising or marketing pixels, including the Meta (Facebook) pixel
• Session recording or screen replay tools
• Chat widgets or lead-capture trackers
• Advertising networks, retargeting, or cross-context behavioral advertising

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. Browsing the public pages of this site sets no cookies at all.

When you browse the public site. Our web server keeps standard security logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. These are used to operate and secure the site and are not used to build a profile of you.

When you request member access. The request form collects your name, company, and email address so the chapter office can verify you and create an account.

When you have a member account. We hold your email address, your name and company, the company you belong to for document access, and a record of when you signed in.

When you use the members’ document assistant. Your question is sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. We also keep a count of how many questions each account asks per day, to enforce a daily limit. Separately, we keep an anonymous log of the questions asked so the chapter can see what members need — that log deliberately contains no account identifier and cannot be traced back to who asked.

When you look up a pay zone. The address you type is sent to our server, which asks a mapping service to resolve it. We do not store the addresses members look up.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site:

• Hosting and database. The site runs on our own server; accounts, documents, and site data are stored with our database and storage provider in the United States.
• Email delivery. Account emails — invitations, password resets, notices — are delivered through an email service provider.
• Bot protection.The “Request Member Access” form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated abuse. It loads on that page only, and is used strictly for security rather than tracking.
• Maps.The Pay Zone Map page loads an interactive map from Google. Your browser contacts Google to draw the map, which means Google receives your IP address and the fact that you loaded that page, subject to Google’s own privacy policy. Address lookups themselves go through our server rather than from your browser, so what you type is not sent from your browser to Google.
• Video. Videos on this site do not load until you press play. Nothing is sent to YouTube — no request, no cookie — unless you choose to start the video. If you do, YouTube receives that request under its own privacy policy.
• AI assistant.Questions asked in the members’ assistant are sent to our AI provider to produce an answer. They are not used to train that provider’s models.

The public pages of this site set no cookies. If you sign in to the members’ area, we set a session cookie so the site knows you are signed in. It is required for the members’ area to work, is not used for advertising or tracking, and ends when you sign out.

Account information is kept while your account is active. Access requests are kept while they are being handled and for a reasonable period afterward. Security logs are kept for a short period for troubleshooting and security. The anonymous question log has no expiry because it identifies no one.

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its information. Contact the chapter office and we will take care of it. We will not treat you differently for asking.

California residents have rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. Because this site runs no advertising or tracking technology, there is no sale or sharing of personal information to opt out of.

This site is intended for member contractors and chapter business. It is not directed to children.

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
